As we were getting setup for a shot, the wind picked up and almost took the veil (and Leslie) along with it!

Today we are sharing a peek back to our first wedding of 2009 - Sasha + Paul in Tampa, FL. You might recognize this lovely couple from their engagement session post or maybe you've spent some time looking through their featured wedding gallery over at www.megphoto.com.

Whether it's your first time meeting this wonderful pair or you are just getting reacquainted, enjoy the wedding!

3 generations.

At a consultation a while back I had a mother remark that it was refreshing to see nice portraiture of people other than JUST the bride and groom. We think so, too. These are for all the mommas out there...

The marriage that gave birth to three lives...

Paul looking dapper.

How cool was this historic hotel lobby - the Don Vicente de Ybor - for the ceremony?!

LOVE.

This really is a fantastic Tampa wedding venue - such a nice atmosphere and the layout was just perfect for a ceremony/reception combo.

Sara + John were married right here in Pensacola, FL back in December of 2008. We had a wonderful time getting to know them on their wedding day, and documenting their experience.

A little "pretty pretty" from the morning.

Meet the couple.

John is a military man. I've always loved a groom in uniform.

This shot was just right place, right time with the leaves falling to frame the couple.

This image collected an award in a WPJA contest last year. One of the groomsmen was practicing his sword routine, and was perfectly back lit by the flashing lights behind him.

The lights turned out to be for Sara's dad. Weddings can be stressful, and the family told us later that he'd gotten a little ahead of himself & never made time to eat that day.

The emotion of this moment was unreal.

The flower girl getting ready to make her entrance.

A close family friend stepped in to take Dad's place.

Newlyweds!

Congratulations Sara + John!

We (kindly) interrupt your Monday afternoon to share this special announcement: Meg Baisden Photography was the proud recipient of a 2010 Silver ADDY Award!!!

As some of you may or may not know, I wear a few hats here at MBP and one of them is "graphic designer." Recently, Meg Baisden Photography has undergone a rebranding overhaul and business cards were at the tippy-top of the to-do list. I created several concepts for Meg and this cute and quirky, vintage-inspired design won her approval! We then found an amazing letterpress printer out in Utah that printed my design onto doubly-thick premium paper stock and added the pop of blue to the edges. The design coupled with this printing technique proved to be a winning combination!

We were all so proud of the end-product that we thought we should enter it into our local AdFed's ADDY Award competition. The Gala was held last Friday night at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front. It was an exciting evening, and though I felt a bit like a little fish in a big pond, I was delighted to be amongst Pensacola's best and brightest creative professionals representing the best and brightest photography studio this side of the Mississippi!

The AdFed put together a great night complete with a showcase of all the entries, a (winner winner) chicken dinner and the award presentation emceed by a couple of local area news anchors, Jaimee Lee and Bree Sison. The winners' name and piece was displayed on a projection screen and they were presented a framed certificate. It was a *really* cool experience to walk up and accept the award! I also want to mention that Charles won for his photography work with Ideawörks, a local ad agency here. Congrats to you, Charles!

Without further ado, have a look at the award-winning Meg Baisden Photography business card...

Meg and Charles, thank you so much for entering the card into the competition! It was absolutely wonderful getting recognized for a sampling of the fun, creative projects I get to design for you! :)
