Fall. It's a magical time of the year.

As summer releases its merciless grip of hot days and horrible weather (seriously... it rained for 7 straight days this week), we can start to feel the change in the air. The back to school chaos pulls teachers back in from their summer bliss, and drivers begin grumbling about those pesky school zones slowing their daily commute. But I breathe a sigh of relief. After all... this means that Fall is just around the corner.

My first sign that fall will be here soon? A promotional email from Starbucks tempting me with the seasonal classic, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Leave it to Starbucks to ring in the new season with an official drink change.

As a kid, back to school was the worst! As an adult (even one without kids), I can't help but feel the opposite about the new season that is approaching.

Fall means so many wonderful things. First, we look forward to the changing seasons: fall leaves, that cool crisp air that brings an end to the endless sweating, and of course the arrival of the snowbird.

Here in the Panhandle region of Florida, we don't have to worry about amazing scenes of changing fall leaves, but we get our own special scenery on the wonderful beaches up and down the coast.

In addition to the fantastic weather we get to enjoy, we also ring in the beginning of college football in the South. If you're not from our "neck of the woods", you might not know that college football is more akin to a religion that a sport. And here in the Baisden house, as FSU alumni, we bleed Garnet & Gold. Go Noles!

We'd love to hear from you - what do you love the most about the Fall season?

Have y'all been watching the Olympics these past few days? We've tried to catch what we can here and there - and though we haven't vegged out watching Olympic trials for hours like we might have hoped - what we have caught has been inspiring! Which brings me to today's topic - and what will surely become a recurring topic - finding wedding and style inspiration in your everyday.

I follow loads of entertaining blogs and I've seen a lot of adorable Olympic theme parties & styled shoots floating around out there, but what I've been most drawn to is the way the party planners have incorporated the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals into their decor. I think that's because I never considered metallic to be a part of the color wheel. It's always floated outside of the Pantone box in my mind as just an accent - not really a color at all.

There was a time when I hated gold. And bronze. And copper. I liked silver, though - a lot. Everything else looked dirty to me - like it had all weathered and turned into these uglier shades. In recent years, however, I've found myself buying and wearing gold CONSTANTLY. From jewelry to nailpolish - Gold has been my new go-to. It's more recent popularity has reached far beyond fashion into home, office, and of course - weddings!

With all of this chatter about the Olympics and 'going for the gold', I thought it would be nice to take a look at some of the gold lovelies I've found. Here's a little head-to-toe inspiration for all the 'golden girls' out there:

no.1 Cece Metallic Ballet Flats $138.00 by J.Crew / / no.2 Strappy Crystal Sandals $198 by Ann Taylor / / no.3 As Good as Gold Wedge $198 by Lilly Pulitzer / / no.4 McKim Sandal in Gold $88 by Lilly Pulitzer / / no.5 Reva Metallic Flats $195 by Tory Burch / / no.6 Glitter Perfect Pumps $158 by Ann Taylor / / no.7 Charm Glitter Pumps $325 by Kate Spade New York

How cute are these?! ban.do Gilt Shoe Bows $40.00 at BHLDN
Bonus - you can reuse these on any other shoes! Super awesome for travel when you are limited to how many pairs you can cram into a suitcase - these little guys take up very little space and can help transform your feet from day to night. I think they're the bees knees!

Next up - we are playing DRESS up! Stick around for more golden goodness.
