Every now & again, Meg & I have an amazing opportunity to be a part of a wedding tradition that is new for us. Tradition of any kind is a wonderful thing, but when you experience something new for the first time, it moves you. We had exactly this experience during August 2008 with Anh + Son's wedding here in Pensacola, FL.
The couple started their day with the traditional procession & gifting at the bride's home. This is an opportunity for the groom's family to ask permission to receive the bride. |

Anh & her mother share a tender moment.

We scheduled a little alone time with the bride & groom prior to the reception at MySpayce.

For the reception, Anh & Son changed into the traditional Vietnamese wedding attire.

One tradition the is celebrated during the Vietnamese reception is that the bride & groom move from table to table receiving gifts from their friends & family, and thanking their guests for their attendance & support. There was also a series of small pranks that the bride & groom were forced to undergo. In this case, they had to eat a shrimp hanging from a stick.

I mentioned the pranks...

Anh & Son also scheduled a newlywed session with us out at Pensacola Beach.
