Happy 2010! Also known as MMX; the 10th year of the 3rd millennium and of the 21st century; and the 1st of the 2010s decade. It's also the year of the Tiger – according to the Chinese Zodiac. Do you have big plans or resolutions for 2010? Here's hoping it's the best year yet and to help kick start it, read on...

I have a bevy of blogs that I subscribe to, and here are a few of my faves. The Sugar Network is comprised of 16 distinct lifestyle and entertainment sites covering topics that include celebrity, fashion, shopping, beauty, entertainment, food, health and much, much more.

If you've made any resolutions this year, I'm sure you will find some great resources on the Sugar blogs. Wanna get in shape? Let FitSugar be your virtual nutritionist and trainer. Watching your pennies? Save money with SavvySugar. Did you pledge to put yourself first? Beautify with BellaSugar. The articles are short and sweet and will inform and entertain you, pick one (or all of them) and subscribe today!

Another popular resolution is to eat better, right? It's easy to see the dilemma – the worst foods are tasty, fast and cheap! Well, author David Zinczenko is helping us all make better decisions by his no nonsense series of books, Eat This, Not That! and Cook This, Not That!

I own a few of these and they are great, handy tools that help me make smarter meal choices when I'm on the go and wiser decisions at the grocery store. The beauty of these books is that they don't restrict you from any kind of food, they simply spell out the benefits and disadvantages of competing brands. They're small enough to keep in your car or purse and the pictures are big and the articles are short – perfect for easy referencing. I highly recommend them!

Chinese take-out is a tradition on New Year's Eve in my husband's family. I've now adopted this delicious ritual for one particularly sweet reason: Fortune cookies happen to be my *favorite* cookie. Yes, I realize that may be outside the norm as far as faves go (chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin etc.), but that's how my cookie crumbles! I love their crisp, vanilla-y flavor and a lot of times they're FREE! Plus, what's better than a two-for-one? With a fortune cookie, you literally get some food for thought! :)

If you happen to be a fan of fortune cookies too, there are many fun ways to enjoy them. Make or bake your own and slip in a cute message for your special someone. If you're hosting a shower or need a unique gift, check out Beau-coup, Fancy Fortune Cookies or Good Fortunes.
