Kati booked with our studio over two years prior to her big day - and along the way y'all have seen them on the blog for their engagement session and bridal session - and a few of you have even had the pleasure of meeting Kati! It goes without saying that we were *SO* excited for Kati + Troy's wedding day to finally roll around.
The morning started off at the International House - a lovely boutique hotel in New Orleans. Meg has a longtime love affair with chandeliers... (the ones in our house are borderline ridiculous!) and then combined with a pair of "pretty-pretty" pumps... what else does a photographer need? |

Kati - you were a stunning bride.

Since I am running the show for this post - I'm sharing two shots from the often-overlooked guys prep ;)

Following their first sight...

Meg really loved that chandelier - which, it turns out, really worked with the decor of the day - wait until we get to the reception!

The ceremony was all about the softer shades of blue - but they kicked up the intensity & drama for the nighttime.

The ceremony was held at the world-famous landmark: the St Louis Cathedral in the heart of New Orleans. Locals have been worshipping and marrying at this historic site since 1727! While the structure has changed multiple times over the years, there is something incredibly powerful about exchanging vows on grounds that so many have come to pray and unite...

With churches this grand, there is really no need for added decoration - but Kati managed to sneak in a little extra sparkle for her walk down the aisle.

The candlelit reception was held at the New Orleans Board of Trade - with cocktail hour kicking the party off in the courtyard.

I'm including a ton of recption detail shots because my wife told me to. She seems to think that our readers might enjoy this type of stuff :)

Meg was completely enamoured with this blinged-out cake stand and these crystal fluer-de-lis charms.

The lighting was fan-tastic...

One of the prettiest cake tables I have ever seen. I'm giving it a Smarty Pants Award just for being totally fabulous.

Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler = Let the Good Times Roll!

And what would a New Orleans reception be without a second line through the Quarter?

Playing with a little motion now...

It truely was the perfect end to a perfect day. Thanks for having us, guys!

Also, a quick shout out to Emily & Valerie over at Get Polished Events for making everything (& everyONE!) picture-perfect and, as always, making our job easier! If you are planning a New Orleans area wedding, hurry on over to get on their calendar - they are deservedly sought-after New Orleans event planners!
Oh, and just a reminder - remember to keep voting for your favorites and telling us what you love! |
