flashback: kristi & taylor - wedding

For those of you that check up on our blog with some frequency, the names of Kristi + Taylor might be familiar already. We just mentioned Kristi in our recent hot off the press post for Julie + Chip. Kristi + Taylor were the first wedding of the year for the Robert family. They hosted a rockin' party in New Orleans.

New Orleans, LA

A love note from the bride.

Kristi + Taylor wanted to make sure that nothing took them away from their reception, so we scheduled a first sight.

The Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church in New Orleans.

If you look closely, you can see just a hint of white on Taylor's knee. The great part of having brothers is that they are ALWAYS looking for ways to make their presence known. Wesley & Chip decided it would be memorable to plant a little flour on the prayer bench for Taylor.

New Orleans at night. The first dance.

Kristi actually found us through another Meg Baisden bride - her best friend Amy. We actually met Kristi + Taylor at Amy's Seaside FL wedding. Thanks for inviting us into your lives! We love you guys!

engagement: jessica & johnathan

I am terrible with names. Horrible. I really have to work to make sure I keep names with the right faces and all that jazz. Normally when I meet someone for the first time I don't process a word they say that follows "Hi, I'm " because I am so focused on repeating their name over and over and over in my head, that I miss the rest of the introduction.

If that wasn't enough of a problem - add to it that there are these really common names out there like Jessica + John(athan) - we've actually had another Jessica + John as wedding clients before, to top it off! It can make a girl's head spin. (And don't even get me started on last names - I'll finally have a bride identified by first and last name and then she goes and gets married and changes everything on me!)

So I have other little cues that help me keep all of you lovely people straight. Sometimes it's location - Texas Jessica or New Orleans Sarah - and other times it's something a little more random...

Meet Green Coat Jessica and her sweet fiance Johnathan. These two youngins are getting hitched in Seaside, FL later this year.

flashback: mallory & matt - wedding

Mallory & Matt had an absolutely charming wedding in Seaside last year. Complete with gorgeous southern flowers, a cupcake dress, and the Seaside pavilion, this was the perfect summer wedding.

In true Seaside fashion, our couple went for a bike ride. Too fun.

Seaside weddings have a magical feel... I really think the light is just different over there.

Dareth + Michael's wedding day didn't disappoint.

Dareth and her dad getting ready for their walk down the aisle.

This little guy was a little shy... and needed an escort to make it down the aisle.

Isn't the Seaside Chapel picture perfect?!

I love tosses directly following the ceremony - it just feels so festive! The timing makes a lot more sense to me, anyhow.

The "champagne toast on the lawn" is a great idea that one of our 2007 couples (Katie + Tim) passed along to Dareth + Michael. Having this immediately following the ceremony gives families a chance to catch up, and it gives the couple a chance to meet & greet their guests. This beats a plain old receiving line any day. Love it!

A tented reception on the Lyceum Lawn.

Cheers!

flashback: amy & bartley - wedding

Today I am so happy to share the wedding of our friends, Amy + Bartley, with all of y'all.

A few things that I particularly loved about this wedding:

1) Amy + Bartley ;)
2) Meeting Kristi (bridesmaid & best friend) + her fiance Taylor - we would photograph their New Orleans nuptials in January 2009!
3) Bartley's bow tie
4) Amy's dress - particularly the combo of her dress in this all-white shabby chic beach house
5) Their super fun Zydeco band from Louisiana
