Thank you for all of the calls and emails wishing us well in our new Pensacola home base. And thanks once again for your concern for our safety during Hurricane Katrina.
We survived with no noteworthy damages - very minor exterior scrapes with a few missing shingles - and of course, yard debris. It seems so silly to list something so minor when large parts of the gulf coast have been torn to pieces. Watching the news these past few days just hurts my heart. Suddenly, everything is put in perspective once again…
For information on how you can help, visit the Red Cross.
Also, Lowe’s will match total in-store contributions up to $1 million. If you are off to Lowe’s - give a dollar and they will match it as a donation to the Red Cross - so every dollar becomes two dollars. Not bad, not bad at all.
Take care all.

I met up with Cheri and Alec just days before their wedding in Destin, FL the other week. This was our first in-person meeting as they currently live in Alaska! (Which I think is too neat.) We warmed to each other quickly and had an awesome session in the gulf coast sun - by the end of the shoot, I felt like we had known each other for a while.
Here’s a few from our time at the beach:

Three days later, I was back in Destin for their wedding! (It was also my birthday!)
Poor Cheri had the pre-wedding jitters - so she kept these friends on hand that morning at the salon:
They had one of the coolest wedding venues ever - a yacht! Their wedding and reception was held onboard the Solaris - which I would totally recommend to any bride looking for something unique and yummy. The views of the Choctawhatee Bay and food were superb, and their event coordinator, Reagan was totally on the ball - where was this girl when I got married?! They are located in the Baytowne Marina Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. I’ve added their contact info to our vendor links area.

Did I mention the yummy food?!

Thanks for letting me be part of your day, guys!

I think I’ve had a few of these messages over the past two weeks. (yikes)
We are in Pensacola - that’s where! We are mostly moved into the new pad (can’t believe I just used the word pad!) but have a few more car loads to bring over yet. Groan.
Thanks for bearing with us during this crazy transition period - in my busiest month of the year, no less! We appreciate your patience and are working oh-so-swiftly to get caught up and back on track.
I’m looking to add a full time staff member to our operation once we get unpacked and up & running in the new office- so we should be seeing BIG improvements in turn around time on prints and album designs! (insert wild applause) I’m so very much looking forward to the help and the changes we have in store for next season…
Stay tuned!

Sarah & Steve (pictured below) are getting geared up for their wedding at the end of the year. We met up with the couple a few weeks back and had a great time at their bizzarre engagement session. They wanted a retro look with martini glasses as a reoccurring prop throughout the shoot. They are looking to enlarge some images from the session to “poster sized” photographs to hang around their reception - which will also have a retro jazzy type feel. I can’t wait!!
Here’s a small sampling:

Congratulations to Betsy & Don on their recent wedding in Tallahassee, FL at the Brokaw McDougall House (see their contact info in our vendors section)!
The ceremony was held at the front steps of the house on a beautiful, sunny Saturday - just don’t ask me about the heat! LOL (It was August 13th - what should I expect?)
Betsy loosened up before the ceremony by making a stop at the liquor store - little did she know I would follow her with a camera to catch her in the act!

The ceremony, performed by Betsy’s brother.

My hubby, Charles, hard at work:
Betsy loves butterflies - you could find these little guys peeking out of the flowers everywhere. Too cute.

Brokaw McDougall all lit up for the reception.

After the reception, the couple headed to their favorite bar/hangout - Waterworks - for a nightcap. We met up with them there to grab a few post-wedding shots (no - not *those* kind of shots!):
