September 2005

Is it just me or does holiday advertising and seasonal merchandising begin earlier each year?

I saw halloween costumes pop up in early August this year. And the other week I began spotting the first signs of Christmas!

Now, I love holidays as much as the next person - no, probably more than the next person - but if we continue to extend these holiday seasons out there won’t be a holiday season anymore! Instead we will have one continuous holiday with different decorations…

There should be a law that says you can only start the merchandising one month prior to the actual holiday…

Okay, maybe six weeks for those of you who are big plan-aheaders…

But fifteen weeks?! Gimme a break.

I only want to have hot cocoa with snowmen shaped marshmallows pushed on me when the weather allows it.

“announcing the arrival of our new site design”

*insert sound of trumpets & brides across the country screaming wildly*

It is on the way! I can’t hardly wait! :)

I’ve been working for the past week on the new website - trying to iron out all of the little details. It is so close to being ready to launch it is driving me crazy!

I’m still working on writing the content for the site. I’m planning to keep it text light and image heavy, as I would like it to operate more like an online portfolio - with this blog being the headquarters for information… sigh.

I’ll post here again as soon as it goes live.

CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS to Nancy & Blaine!

The couple exchanged vows on September 3rd in Tallahassee FL at Faith Presbyterian Church followed by a reception at the Los Robles Woman’s Club.

The bride chose one of my favorite color combos – chocolate and pink – yummy!

Maybe one of the most impressive details was in the dresses – Nancy’s mom actually made all of the bridesmaid dresses and the bridal gown. Amazing!! I’m posting a picture so you can see the handiwork – I have never been so impressed. I couldn’t sew a pillowcase to save my life!

And I just had to share this shot of the flower girls – little photographers in training! (notice the expression of the little one in the background)

I am wearing fuzzy socks while I work today.

These are the best things since sliced bread. Seriously.

My mom introduced me to fuzzy socks in December 2003 and I love her for it. I found plush pink ones last night at Target:

I am wearing them now. I am thinking about wearing them when I go to the post office later, hidden by my sneakers, of course.
