July 2006

A majority of our work involves travel throughout the Southeast - taking us away from our “home base” of Pensacola, Florida. But that’s okay - we really enjoy that part of the job and are thankful for the opportunities that our travels bring our way. This travel means, however, that we often won’t have the opportunity to meet our clients face-to-face until their wedding day. This has never been a problem, though - we’ve built our business around accomodating our destination weddings and communicating with clients who live far away. I will say that it always pushes us to find a way to ‘connect’ with one another prior to the big day - so that working together for the first time on such an important day feels easy - like old friends. We work hard to establish these relationships and open communication with all of our to-be-weds in all of our pre-wedding correspondance. So while I feel we can take partial credit for the comfortable and relaxed feeling you see in our work with our newlyweds - I must admit that sometimes you just get lucky… You have a great couple, like Brad and Dana here - that just feel so “right” together - you couldn’t possibly go wrong. Thank you guys for letting us be a part of your lives - if just for one short day - in Dothan, Alabama:

They’re back and they are hitched!!!

A really nice touch - they brought in a recording artist from Tampa to serenede the room during dinner - AWESOME!

A shout-out to pops:

Just in case you see this sometime soon, Dad - I hope your big day was everything you might have wanted!
We enjoyed dinner and the games - but next time we won’t let you win just because it was your birthday ;)

Much love and see you soon.

Okay, don’t get all excited by the post title - it’s not that kind of blog! ;)

Just wanted to share a quick pic Charles took of our little Madison a moment ago:

She has claimed the laundry basket as her newest home. Last month it was my open suitcase. Apparently, she has moved on to dirty socks and such - lovely.

I won’t even begin to tell you how many fru-fru dog beds we have lying around… It’s like the kid that opens a big expensive toy on Christmas morning and then chooses to play with the two dollar stocking stuffer instead.

“Kids!”

It’s funny how quickly you can really connect with someone - we didn’t even meet Jess and Jason until the evening before their St Augustine wedding, but by the end of the wedding night - we felt as if we were a part of the family! It was an emotional day for all - go figure, I cried during the toasts. As it was a destination wedding, they had a smaller group which just added to the close, intimate feel. Truly lovely and it’s always an awesome experience shooting a wedding at the Casa Monica.

Dress Detail - pay attention here. Jessica is an amazing designer and seamstress and actually MADE her own wedding dress. Actually, she made her bridesmaids dresses and her rehearsal dinner dress as well. Talk about crazy talented - she was a fashion design major and is preparing to launch her own line of custom bridal and evening wear. You’ll be hearing more from her, I’m sure!

She wore the dress on the left for the ceremony and then changed into the dress on the right (this is the dress she designed and made) for the reception
