October 2006

We loved this wedding… something about these two… the way they look at each other… It’s so awesome to see that in two people - when it is so visible that you, as an outsider, feel all warm and fuzzy just basking in their glow. Congratulations, Lovebirds!

The boys squeezed in a little volleyball before getting ready for the ceremony - this is Jon:

While the girls spent all morning getting ready and were still running late! LOL. Meet Jen:

About 2 hours into the girl’s prep process, the guys decided to go wash up:

The couple had a private meeting before the ceremony where Jon surprised Jen with a second diamond-paved band to go with her set! She was very happy - see the series:

A tearful pre-ceremony pep talk from Dad:

Walking down the aisle, escorted by father and step-father:

Vows:

LOVED the band! The name escapes me now, but I’ll try to get the details from Jen and post about them here!

SPARKLERS!

Michelle & Jimmy introduced us to the coolest military fort in Alabama for their engagement shoot. We can’t wait to go back in May for Michelle’s bridal session!

THIRD PLACE!!! Who hoo!! Kimbril & Doug (and their wild reception) helped Meg capture this amazing image that garnered a Third Place finish in the Reception Category of the Summer 2006 WPJA contest!

When a WPJA member receives 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a quarterly contest, they are rewarded with this spectacular medallion:

Spectacular, no?

Ok - the medallion itself is more like a hood ornament for our web listing. But what is does is it gives us a “Photographer PIX Page” - this is a featured gallery that appears next to our name on the Florida page that displays all of our award-winning images.

So now all seekers of great wedding photography can peruse not only our website, but they can also thumb through our award-winning images in our PIX Page gallery! We’re VERY happy about this one!!!

Here is the official link to the contest page where the winning image was featured:

And here is what the judges had to say about the insanity!!!

JUDGES COMMENTS: This is such a beautifully comoposed photograph of a spontaneous (and slightly surreal) moment. Every individual, every line of sight in the frame takes the eye to the bride on the shoulders of the wedding party. The bizarre clown’s head the bride is wearing is perfectly positioned in the frame. I love the two men in the foreground looking up at the bride, woman in the bottom right of the frame who is looking at the woman to her left whose two hands point up toward the bride. Everything in this image brings attention back to the bride. I have as much fun looking at the individuals in this photograph as they seem to be having at the wedding. Can you hear the music?

Thanks for noticing! We are honored!

eight hundred and thirty four.

what’s that you ask?

oh, nothing really - just a few emails…

834 emails, to be exact.

all from this past week.

sitting in my inbox - waiting for us to return from Savannah.

some still unread.

(*SIGH*)

I knew that leaving town for a few extra days surrounding this past weekend’s Hilton Head Island, SC wedding would come at a price - we’d have a little catching up to do - but this… well, this exceeds expectations.

Now, in fairness, it does appear that close to 50% is spam that the filter didn’t catch - maybe it was on vacation, too…

We took the laptop with us and replied to anything that appeared truly urgent right away. We also arranged to have every call forwarded to our cell phone - so we caught most calls!

SO - if you have written or called in the past nine days and still haven’t received a reply - be assured that we have heard you and are responding in order. We are already through a large majority of the replies and expect to be fully caught up this week!

Laurel’s back and she’s married to Doug! Congratulations guys! Here’s a sneak peek at another beautiful Tallahassee wedding:
