October 2006

Every year my dad delights in spooking the neighborhood children on the 31st of October. It’s become kind of a family tradition since I started inviting Charles to my parents’ home for Halloween six years ago and the preparations have come earlier every year. (When this madness started in my high school years my dad would wait until the afternoon of the 31st to even pull a costume together!) Last year, to give you an idea, the boys went out and bought fog machines for the front porch and Charles donned a full-body gorilla costume! Normally this tradition is all about the guys - but this year I’ve told mom I want her and I to carve a pumpkin like we used to do when I was little. So for inspiration I hit the web and came across this site and thought I would share:

extremepumpkins.com

Be sure to click through the contest winner galleries - some cool stuff! BUT BEWARE - there are some… err… not kid-friendly or maybe even workplace-friendly pumpkin designs in the galleries as well…

I’ll post some shots from our Halloween 2006 in a few short weeks!

We really do have the funnest couples! (Funnest - is that a real word? I don’t think so…)

We didn’t actually have an opportunity to meet these two until their big day - but we made fast friends! By the end of their post-wedding newlywed session the following day in Seaside, Florida - we didn’t want to say goodbye!

At the entrance to the beach house:

Girls watching ball (I can’t tell you how many shots we have of the guys watching football pre-ceremony, it was nice to see the tables turned!):

The flowergirl showing off her new ring (this cracks me up - giving Jessica “the bird!”)

GORGEOUS flowers by Bella Flora in Santa Rosa Beach (highly recommended vendor!!)

I love to see a man cry… is that wrong?

I think Jessica looks stunning here!

Newlyweds

I loved this idea of sunken flowers under water!

YUM!!
