We met up with these two only ten short hours after saying our goodbyes at their reception the night prior! With the excitement (and stress!) of the big day behind them, our Newlyweds were looking forward to an early shoot around Hilton Head Island before we had to say goodbye one last time.
We started our shoot at the very wet and overcast beach and pool area surrounding the hotel…
Followed by breakfast - which I didn’t take photos of - so you’ll just have to imagine it! (Sidenote for our Newlyweds: It was so nice to have the time to have a real sit down meal with y’all! For our destination weddings, we always seem to be jetting in and out so fast, we rarely have that kind of one-on-one time - I think this is going to have to be a new standard.
No, seriously guys, it was an honor to be there during this amazing time in your relationship and we are thankful to know you better. Okay, mushy stuff aside…)
After an amazing breakfast, we headed over to Palmetto Bluff for a fun post-wedding shoot.
I love this:
And this (we had a family with two little girls looking on during this part - so I kept thinking “uhhh… let’s stop the hand right about there, Aaron!”):
And this, too - since Kristi is such a big fan of black & white photography:
AND - I just received an email from Kristi, who has apparently been watching her highlights slideshow over and over again this morning, and she had this to say:
Meg & Charles-
My search for the best photographer lead me to you and now I search for the words to express my gratitude for your work; however, I am speechless!I told Aaron over and over that I feared our wedding pictures wouldn’t turn out as beautiful as the others on your website because I don’t feel I’m that pretty. Well…you proved me very wrong. Not only do I feel like I’m looking at a masterpiece, I pinch myself because I’m looking at me and my husband.
Your work is a true gift from God and I thank him that he brought us all together.

Okay, now……………….your email should have included a mascara alert!!!! You have made everyone in my office, including myself, cry from the BEAUTIFUL pictures you took. If this is just a little teaser, I can’t wait for the full-deal!!!
Hope ya’ll are doing good back in Florida. I have already told Aaron that you will be seeing us again for when we have a baby.
Lots of love to you both!
Thank you for your sweet words honey! Well, except that part about you not feeling “pretty” - WHAT IS THAT ABOUT?! I hope you can see that you really *are* beautiful - my camera is good, but it doesn’t lie!!!
**Ladies and gentlemen - if you would, if you feel so inclined - please leave this crazy girl a comment and let her know how great she looks! I mean it, I want her to know it’s not just a biased photographer talking here. You were a beautiful bride, Kristi!!!**

Kristi,
I just came across your pictures on Meg’s website (sorry, Meg, I’m a stalker!)
From the proud look on your new husband’s face, you obviously got a good one! And I’m with Meg, you make an absolutely gorgeous bride! I think girls are so beautiful when you can take one look at them and see real sincerity. You and your husband are adorable and look so complete on your big day. Congratulations and good luck to you both in your new marriage.

Kristi - As having just been photographed by Meg for my bridal shoot, I know how nerve-racking it can be; especially knowing how many beautiful brides Meg has photographed… But, girl, let me just say that YOU LOOK ABSOLOUTELY GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! Your “just married” aura really seems to shine through on your face. I actually smiled to myself when I first saw the photos, before I read the blog
I hope that my happiness will shine through like that on my wedding day next month… Congrats to you and your new hubby!

Kristi:
My average day includes looking at Meg’s blog at LEAST 5 times a day, and today coming across your wedding and post/wedding pictures was so exciting!!
I am with Meg and Emily….You are such an absolutely beautiful bride (both in and out, I am sure of it.
I have enjoyed looking at your pictures and I will enjoy looking at them in the future.
Congrats and I wish you and your husband the very best in all your endeavors.

Trust me, I’m a doctor. There is nothing I or Meg could do to make you anymore beautiful. These pictures are super fantastic! I hope my wedding pictures turn out this great.

Kristi,
Meg is good. But she is not THAT good
. She definitely has an amazing talent, but she cannot transform you. You are beautiful. You look so great in your pictures. Aaron is a lucky guy. I bet HE is the one pinching himself!! Best wishes for a wonderful marriage.
Oh, and “not pretty” people do not require a mascara alert!!

Kristi,
Your pictures are UNBELIEVABLE! Meg and Charles have a way of bringing out the beauty in us that others typically get to see, but that we don’t always notice in ourselves. Nothing is more beautiful to me than a couple sincerely in love….and I see that written all over the both of you in your pictures. I am now under the two week mark until my big day, and I can only hope that my pictures turn out half as wonderful as yours did. Best wishes for a long and happy marriage!!!

Kristi -
Like all of Meg’s bloggers, I visit her site at least once a day to see what new and fabulous photos she’s posted. And when I came across your wedding photos, I just smiled. You are such a gorgeous bride - and your beauty is not only on the outside, but on the inside as well (look at how you are smiling at hubby - it’s magic).
So often, we look at a photograph and say, “Wow, that is a great shot; the photographer made her look so beautiful.” But really, the photographer is simply holding up a mirror, reflecting what is already there - something that, by itself, is already beautiful.
Best wishes and congratulations!

Another beautiful bride by Meg!
I actually leave the website open all day so I can listen to the music (ok, so I AM crazy). But I have to tell you these photos are great! I love the black and white (hands picture and with the doors). Such a beautiful bride and a beautiful wedding! I can’t wait to see more! She looks like a pro!
I am yet another self proclaimed wedding blog stalker (maybe soon she will change the webpage too)!!

Kristi,
What Amazing photos you and your husband took. I’m not normally one of Meg’s blog stalkers, but I do find myself looking at her website quite often, he.he. When I came across you and your husbands photo’s I instantly stopped and looked at the two of you. Meg and Charles do an Amazing job, however, the camera doesn’t lie. You looked absolutely beautiful! I’m sure you are just as beautiful inside as you are out and that your husband is a very lucky man.
Best wishes for a long, healthy and happy marriage,
Cori Bennett

A wonderful reminder of why I selected Meg to photograph my wedding in the first place– the beauty of the photos is in the love on the couple’s faces!!! I still have almost a year to go before my big day, but I love seeing the happiness on all these Meg Brides’ faces before it’s my turn! Kristi– beautiful! Wishing you a lifetime of beautiful moments with your new husband! Congratulations!

I totally agree with the other blogs, and I just watched your slideshow from the client gallery. BEAUTIFUL!! Mine should be coming up in a month or so, and I only hope to look as good as you. I can’t tell you how many times I doubt my looks, but I’m sure we’re always harder on ourselves. What a nice couple you and your husband make! Hope you’re enjoying married life as much as we are!! Take care.
