Sheri + John
Rehearsal Dinner
November 2, 2007
New Orleans, LA
In my excitement to unveil our latest [100:1 series] wedding, I overlooked the fact that we’ll actually have some extra images for this event.
Sheri + John invited us to attend their rehearsal dinner the Friday evening before their wedding, and document that event for them as well. Here are a few images from the evening, along with Sheri + John’s comments.
SHERI: New Orleans is famous for a number of things, including many small, intimate courtyards. This particular courtyard was in Broussard’s Restaurant located in the French Quarter. It really gave our guests that “New Orleans-y” feel! I was so happy to have Meg and Charles join us for our rehearsal dinner.

SHERI: My Father-in-Law started off the toasts with some really sweet words.

JOHN: I love the pure joy this photo captures for both Sheri & I.

SHERI: After all the gifts were handed out, my soon-to-be in-laws said they had one more gift and that it was for me. I was so taken aback and surprised! It was a ring that belonged to John’s grandmother and they wanted to pass it down to me so that we could pass it down to our future children. Talk about a tear-jerker!!! It was an incredibly touching moment that I will truly never forget!
JOHN: My mother passed down one of her mother’s rings to Sheri which was a complete surprise for her.

JOHN: She could not wait to show off her new family possession.

Wedding
November 3, 2007
New Orleans, LA
This week, we’ll be debuting a wedding that we photographed last November in New Orleans. Meg has decided that this one will be the second wedding in our [100:1 series], where we showcase 100 images from 1 event.
The goal with our [100:1 series] is to demonstrate the depth of the coverage that our clients receive…not just a handful of good shots…but literally hundreds of interesting, compelling, & beautiful images all from ONE wedding.
We’re going to change it up a bit this time by adding comments directly from our clients themselves! We’ve previewed the images with them, and asked them to share their thoughts & ideas about the images, and tell us what makes the choices and moments special for them.
So stay tuned as we reveal Sheri + John’s wedding from November ‘07 in NOLA!

Joy + Dion are a local couple that we connected with at last year’s bridal fair! We love our Pensacola couples, and enjoy working close to home whenever we can! Here are a few images from their engagement session.

Robyn + JR
Wedding
October 27, 2007
Steinhatchee, FL
As promised, here is a bit of information on the resort where the weekend wedding was hosted: Steinhatchee Landing. It was an incredible place that has hosted the likes of President Jimmy Carter (while he was in office), and the Kennedy family. Way cool. Here are a handful of images from the actual wedding day.

The last minute “getting ready” scramble.

Meet JR.

And this is Robyn!

Steinhatchee Landing has this really cool rustic vibe…

Classic.

Robyn had a really awesome concept for a group shot following the ceremony. With the help of a really tall ladder, we we’re able to get everyone together in one shot!

A swanky little cocktail hour following the ceremony.

A cool moment from the couples shots.

Continuing with the rustic theme, Steinhatchee Landing had this awesome classic car parked on the property.

This was a first for us — it was the first time we had the opportunity to put on a photo booth. These things have been all the rage in the wedding magazines lately. To make a long story short — Robyn had hired a local photographer for the booth…the girl got her dates confused, showed up on Friday to setup her photo booth, and was unavailable for the actual wedding day. We stepped in & saved the day.
Overall, it was a success considering that we had 6 hours of notice to set everything up!

We went to a wedding and a full on party broke out…

…complete with a KEG STAND!

And a final kiss to end a rockin’ evening! Thanks for such an amazing weekend guys!

robyn + jr
rehearsal dinner
October 27, 2007
Steinhatchee, FL
Robyn + JR were married this past October in a tiny little fishing town called Steinhatchee, FL. Turns out, it is one of the most relaxing, most charming places we have ever worked!!! It was a gem! I’ll elaborate on the resort a bit in my next post. For now, I wanted to warm you up with a handful of images from their backyard BBQ rehearsal dinner!
~ Charles
The table was set for an evening BBQ.

I thought this was a clever idea. To the woman with corn…my apologies!

There’s something about lights on a string that just looks fabulous…

An evening glow.

Boom.

I love the scene the Meg was able to paint with this image…this is a great example of TWO angles being utilized in the same moment. One camera is fixed on the sky, while the other is illustrating the experience.
