Mandy
Bridal Session
January 11, 2008
Loxley, Alabama
Welcome back to the blog, Mandy!
Blogstalkers might recognize Mandy from her two engagement shoots with us (the first got rained out 10 minutes in - hence the two sessions). We also had the pleasure of shooting some bridals prior to the big day and then, of course, there was the actual wedding - coming to the blog soon!
These first few were taken on the back porch of her mom and dad’s vacation/golf home - and the chairs have a real sentimental value to her parents, so we tried to incorporate them just a little:

I dig it:

Their rehearsal dinner was held in the clubhouse, seen here:

These next few were ‘for dad’ - Mandy wanted to incorporate some golf themes into a few shots and we were happy to help:

And many thanks to Mandy’s ‘caddy’ - otherwise known as Mom - who was an awesome help during this shoot!

Dorain + Matt
Wedding
January 5, 2008
Chez Pierre | Tallahassee, FL
I’m happy to be welcoming Dorian + Matt back to the blog - you might remember seeing their Tallahassee engagement session up here not too long ago. I met with these two last night to discuss their wedding album and I am happy to report that marriage is agreeing with them!
But enough talk - let’s share some images.
Dorian with her mom:

Matt with his dad:

Matt’s long walk to see his bride:

Dorian, escorted by her bridesmaids, heading to see Matt for the first time:

First sight:

From the first sight, we rolled right into a few ‘formals’ with the couple - it’s such a nice sequence of events, to get to work off of their energy and emotion from the first sight:

Now, of course, that can lead to some unexpected ‘moments’ as well

This started out as ‘for fun’ - but they actually rocked the serious side too:

Leaving to head off to the church - one last kiss before they were hitched:

Meg wanted me to share this because she says ‘it makes me smile’ - this is Dorian’s dad, a funny guy:

Funny vows:

It had been a while since Meg + I had been to Chez Pierre (we went regularly when we lived in Tallahassee - we actually had our own rehearsal dinner upstairs) - so who knows how long it has been looking this good - but I was blown away by the way they’ve built up the exterior and really made it into a top notch reception area with a big outdoor bar and giant deck. See for yourself:

Cocktail hour surrounded the outdoor buffet:

Most of the events were outside under the stars - including dancing on the deck:

The sounds of Crooked Shooz filled the air - our favorite Tallahassee band:

Later that evening, Matt took the drums:

(and the ladies went wild - LOL) < -- I'm teasing, his mom is seen here in the middle - she is, perhaps, his biggest fan:

Then Dorian grabbed a tambourine - we’re half way towards the next Patridge Family:

Everyone loves a sparkler exit:

Bon Jour, Y’all!

Meet baby Leo (who incidentally is not a Leo - yes, Meg asked - but just happens to have a very cool name):

With mom, Sarah:

Baby’s first Christmas:

And who can resist smiling at a baby in a hat?

Many thanks to Jessica + baby Ashton for referring their friends to us!

We’re excited to finally share this family session we shot in Watercolor on New Year’s Day earlier this year. (We’re slowly but steadily trying to get ‘caught up’ on blogging!)

Move over, Tyra Banks:

There’s a 30×40 Canvas Gallery Wrap of this shot displayed in their home (That’s one BIG print!)

Thanks for an awesome shoot, guys! We’re looking forward to next time!

Kristin + Jason
Wedding
December 31, 2007
You met Kristin + Jason just a few weeks ago when we shared Jason’s surprise engagement session. This past December 31, Kristin + Jason tied the knot at Old Christ Church, and followed it up with a New Year’s Eve reception! We had a great time partying with them & working our way through the countdown! Here are a few images from the day.

We wanted to start this post off with a bang. Har har. Our blog has officially been upgraded to PG-13. (Ya know, originally I just assumed Meg set this shot up - but she informed me it was indeed a found moment and she actually did a double take when she first spotted it!)
Bridal shoes + blue jeans.

Kristin + her Dad starting the big walk.

This is such a timeless image.

Keeping Kristen on her toes during the ceremony, Jason presented his bride with some surprise bling.

Soft afternoon sun, downtown Pensacola.

Old Christ Church at night

Go Auburn! …whoah, who said that?! Jason’s mom baked the groom’s cake!

Nobody lights it up quite like Myspayce - and yes, that is football on the big screen during dinner

We like this shot a lot. This is a moment from the toasts. It’s just a different way of seeing a typical scene.

Jason dancing with his mom.

Kids these days…

Where’s Danny Bonaduce?! This kid’s a star!

Some festive lighting for a different look.

THREE…..TWO…..ONE…..HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this shot!!!! It was such a neat moment, all ambient light from the car lights. Just a clever little catch.
