Allanda is an opera singer in Mobile, and needed a fresh look for her headshots. Meg (with her background in theatre) jumped at the chance! We had a great afternoon, and got some great shots!

~ Charles

Allanda picked these shots to use for her portfolio - two color, two black & white:

Meg tells me the key to good headshots is a clean background, great catchlights in the eyes, and nice light on the skin - I think she aced it here:

Thanks for letting us be a (tiny) part of your continuing success, Allanda!

When:

December 31, 2007

Where:

MySpayce | Pensacola, FL

You met Kristin + Jason just a few weeks ago when we shared Jason’s surprise engagement session. This past December 31, Kristin + Jason tied the knot at Old Christ Church, and followed it up with a New Year’s Eve reception! We had a great time partying with them & working our way through the countdown! Here are a few images from the day.

~ Charles

We wanted to start this post off with a bang. Har har. Our blog has officially been upgraded to PG-13. (Ya know, originally I just assumed Meg set this shot up - but she informed me it was indeed a found moment and she actually did a double take when she first spotted it!)

Nobody lights it up quite like Myspayce - and yes, that is football on the big screen during dinner ;)

We like this shot a lot. This is a moment from the toasts. It’s just a different way of seeing a typical scene.

Ballet Pensacola

What:

2007 Nutcracker Production

When:

December 19, 2007

Where:

Pensacola Cultural Center

As the official photographers for Ballet Pensacola, The Nutcracker has worked it’s way into our repetoire and is the most anticipated production of the season. Since this is an annual production, our challenge is finding new & interesting ways to photograph the dancers from year to year. How’d we do?

~ Charles

You might look at this image and think “nice setup”. But the REALLY cool part with all of these images is that they are live action shots. Nothing was staged, nothing stopped…in each & every case, the dancers were moving at full speed during their dress rehearsal!

If you live in Pensacola, be sure to check out the Ballet’s upcoming productions - we recently shot One Step to the Left (which you’ll see here soon) and that was a total departure from ’swans & tutus’ - so they are definitely offering something for everyone!

Chris Washler

What:

Campaign Headshots

When:

December 11, 2007

Where:

Pensacola, FL

I met Chris while I was working for the Pensacola Symphony as their Director of Marketing. Chris was one of our corporate sponsors, and took care of our network & computers in the office. He operates an IT firm here in Pensacola called Infinity Tech Solutions. Chris has been keeping the Meg Baisden Photography network & servers operating smoothly for the past three years.

Needless to say, we were very excited when Chris called to let us know that he was running for office here in Pensacola. We were even more excited when he asked us to shoot his campaign headshots! Now, we don’t do politics on this blog…but we will do a shout out for a friend & a client. So take a moment and check out Chris’s platform:

Engagement Session

When:

November 18, 2007

Where:

Pensacola, FL

This is probably the best setup we’ve ever been a part of! Kristin had been bugging Jason to do an engagement session. He kept telling her that he thought it was lame, and that he wouldn’t do it. The beauty of this is that Jason had contacted us shortly before Kristin even ASKED for a session & had booked us for a Sunday afternoon this past November! SURPRISE!!!

It was absolutely priceless when Kristin + Jason pulled up to the studio. Kristin still didn’t know what was going on even when she saw Meg & I. The result was a fantastic session with the whole family!

Okay, so normally we don’t feature these type of outtakes on the blog, but Meg + I really love the relationship displayed here (and really, throughout the shoot) between father & son…

Antagonizing:
