Introducing Mia & David to the Meg Baisden Photography blog!

Y’all will be seeing lots more from this fun couple - we’ll be blogging Mia’s bridal session, their rehearsal dinner extravaganza, and their gorgeous wedding soon! Mia’s already contacted us about shooting a post wedding session - so we should have some more fun there and come back with even more!!

As you can see, we had an awesome afternoon working in and around the Sandestin Marina:

Thanks for letting us spend the afternoon with y’all - we’re looking forward to doing it again soon!

We did two things in July we had never done before: we said yes to a family portrait session and we said yes to another family portrait session. I know it might seem like the same thing, and it really kind of is - but this was a big deal for us. See - for years now we have turned away portrait work - wanting to focus entirely on our wedding clients and working exclusively for y’all. But the two families I am about to introduce to the blog wrote me the sweetest emails about how all they wanted this summer were great, casual portraits of their kids/family and how they loved the feel of our wedding work - so how could I say no?

Our first family session was around the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort with the Helm family:

A few of my faves:

I met up with Cheri and Alec just days before their wedding in Destin, FL the other week. This was our first in-person meeting as they currently live in Alaska! (Which I think is too neat.) We warmed to each other quickly and had an awesome session in the gulf coast sun - by the end of the shoot, I felt like we had known each other for a while.

Here’s a few from our time at the beach:

Three days later, I was back in Destin for their wedding! (It was also my birthday!)

Poor Cheri had the pre-wedding jitters - so she kept these friends on hand that morning at the salon:

They had one of the coolest wedding venues ever - a yacht! Their wedding and reception was held onboard the Solaris - which I would totally recommend to any bride looking for something unique and yummy. The views of the Choctawhatee Bay and food were superb, and their event coordinator, Reagan was totally on the ball - where was this girl when I got married?! They are located in the Baytowne Marina Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. I’ve added their contact info to our vendor links area.
