Rehearsal Dinner

When:

April 4, 2008

Where:

Meridian, MS

Meredith + Aubert tied the knot this past April over in Meridian, MS. Meridian is a charming little southern town with all sorts of heritage & history! The day before the wedding, we photographed an amazing backyard rehearsal dinner at the home of Aubert’s parents. Here are a few images from the evening.

The guests were greeted by a live 3 piece band…including a live saxaphone! What a great way to set the mood. Earlier in the day, a string of tornados has busted up the downtown area…fortunately, the power came back on right before the event started!

The catering was simply astounding…exquisite attention to detail, superb food…it was amazing!

The toasts were hilarious, emotional, and everything in between! One family member had written a custom song to the tune of “I want to be a rockstar”, and switched it up to read “I want to be a senator”. It was hysterically funny!

What:

Rehearsal Dinner

When:

November 2, 2007

Where:

New Orleans, LA

In my excitement to unveil our latest [100:1 series] wedding, I overlooked the fact that we’ll actually have some extra images for this event.

Sheri + John invited us to attend their rehearsal dinner the Friday evening before their wedding, and document that event for them as well. Here are a few images from the evening, along with Sheri + John’s comments.

SHERI: New Orleans is famous for a number of things, including many small, intimate courtyards. This particular courtyard was in Broussard’s Restaurant located in the French Quarter. It really gave our guests that “New Orleans-y” feel! I was so happy to have Meg and Charles join us for our rehearsal dinner.

SHERI: My Father-in-Law started off the toasts with some really sweet words.

JOHN: I love the pure joy this photo captures for both Sheri & I.

SHERI: After all the gifts were handed out, my soon-to-be in-laws said they had one more gift and that it was for me. I was so taken aback and surprised! It was a ring that belonged to John’s grandmother and they wanted to pass it down to me so that we could pass it down to our future children. Talk about a tear-jerker!!! It was an incredibly touching moment that I will truly never forget!

JOHN: My mother passed down one of her mother’s rings to Sheri which was a complete surprise for her.

JOHN: She could not wait to show off her new family possession.

What:

rehearsal dinner

When:

October 27, 2007

Where:

Steinhatchee, FL

Robyn + JR were married this past October in a tiny little fishing town called Steinhatchee, FL. Turns out, it is one of the most relaxing, most charming places we have ever worked!!! It was a gem! I’ll elaborate on the resort a bit in my next post. For now, I wanted to warm you up with a handful of images from their backyard BBQ rehearsal dinner!

~ Charles

The table was set for an evening BBQ.

I thought this was a clever idea. To the woman with corn…my apologies! :-)

I love the scene the Meg was able to paint with this image…this is a great example of TWO angles being utilized in the same moment. One camera is fixed on the sky, while the other is illustrating the experience.

What:

Rehearsal Dinner

When:

October 12, 2007

Where:

Huntsville, AL

Valerie + Ryan drove over to Pensacola for their engagement session where Valerie schooled Ryan in a mean game of mini golf. Here they are kicking off their wedding weekend festivities in Hunstville, AL!

~ Charles

Valerie & the girls enjoyed a nice luncheon overlooking a beautiful golf course:

I liked this shot of Valerie’s grandmother holding her hand as Valerie welcomed her guests.

Cotton was growing all around the perimeter of the course - I don’t think I’d ever seen cotton growing up close before that day:

After the luncheon, Meg made a quick stop at Valerie’s house. She had the privelage of meeting Captain (Ryan’s dog). Captain would best be described as…what I am looking for…hyper?

The party continued later that evening at Rosie’s Cantina.
