An incredibly thoughtful note from Mother of the Groom, Jane:
Dear Meg,
I wanted to take a moment to tell you what an amazing and breathtaking job you and your husband did at Josh and Laura’s wedding. I’m sure that other people have told you this but not only did you take beautiful photos but you captured the essence of both Josh and Laura. When I viewed the slideshow I cried. It took me back to the wedding and all of the time surrounding it.
This was particularly important to my mother, Josh’s grandmother, who fell ill shortly before the wedding and was not able to attend. Your slideshow let her “be there” in a way that she otherwise would not have been able to be.
You are an artist Meg but more importantly a very kind and special person.

An email from April (bride) after returning home from her destination wedding in St Lucia:
Hey guys!
Michael and I are finally home, and while we’re glad to have our dog back, we REALLY miss the islands…..especially since it’s in the 20’s this morning!!
I don’t even know how to begin to express our thanks to you guys, as I am positive that there aren’t enough words to express what I feel inside right now. I sincerely meant it when I said our two best decisions about this wedding was (1) doing a destination wedding and (2) having both of you there with us. The slideshow you guys put together was BEAUTIFUL, and I have no doubt that the rest of the pictures will be just as amazing. You will never quite know how much it meant to us that you stayed up all night putting together that slideshow. Not only did you have Michael and I in tears (AGAIN), but you hands-down made the argument to everyone else for us about why we chose to bring you with us - they all loved the show and they loved you guys! In fact, Ari and Caitlin have made several comments about looking into using you, and Carolyn made a comment about using you when she gets married someday down the road! Aside from the awesome pictures, Michael and I had SO MUCH fun in St. Lucia, and we are so glad that you were there to be a part of that with us. Both of us felt that we were able to connect with each of you on a different level on this trip….not just as our photographers, but as our friends. We truly loved every minute of our trip and our time spent hanging out with you guys (and everyone else), and we hope you felt the same - we wouldn’t have changed one thing about our wedding or the group of people we had with us. It was just as I had hoped our wedding would be…..perfect.
Now that I’ve rambled on about our time in St. Lucia, I guess I should at least mention the second half of our trip in Antiqua! It was very pretty and we had a relaxing time, but I am very biased to St. Lucia. Not only did I like the island and the people of St. Lucia a little better, but I missed having all of you guys to hang out with. I can’t stress enough how much fun Michael and I had with everyone. I’m pretty sure I cried no less than 10 times the day we left St. Lucia…..
Well, as my mom always says, it’s time for Michael and I to close one chapter in our book of life and start the next. We couldn’t have asked for two better people to capture our first chapter, and don’t think I won’t be calling on you guys again for the next chapters…..we’ve seen what you can do, and we’re not letting you get away! In the words of Carolyn, “we think you’ve got some real potential”!

A follow-up email from April after seeing all of her photos:
LOOOOOOVED them!!!!!! I’m sure I’m going to look at them a gazillion times more. That trip was by far the most amazing time of my life. Everything was PERFECT, and your pictures bring everything back as if it were yesterday. We truly can’t thank ya’ll enough for being there with us. I get teary eyed every time I look at the pictures….words can’t even begin to express all of the emotions that get stirred up when I see those images. We truly could not have asked for two better people to have captured that time for us. You two are blessed with such an amazing talent, and I’d pay every cent and more to take you with us again if I had it to do all over!! I still stick by Michael’s statement in St. Lucia - the first best decision we ever made was to get married in St. Lucia, and the second best was to have you guys there with us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Dear Meg and Charles,
The pics from Ashley and Mark’s wedding are absolutely amazing! I have been trying to capture in words since we first saw them how absolutely wonderful they are and I am at a loss. Stunning, gorgeous, amazing, absolutely beautiful…see, the words just don’t do them justice! From the beaming bridegroom, to the exquisite bride (can MOB’s say that?) you caught the love, the excitement, the fun, and the sanctity of the day. We are truly thankful you both were a part of Ashley and Mark’s special day. Another special blend of our families. You are an awesome team and I loved watching you “work” together; was it really “work”, you could tell you loved every minute of it!
Well, I’ve gone on long enough. We haven’t’ been able to decide on the engagement photos, how are we ever going to decide on wedding photos? Again, thank you, thank you, for making such a special day in our lives, so absolutely wonderful. You were a dream to work with and are amazing, amazing photojournalists! Wow, Meg, what an incredible job that you did on Allison and Chris’ wedding photographs. I have sat here over and over looking at them going from laughter to tears. You were somehow able to capture all the moments that made it such a special day…what a gift you have. You also have a gift in that precious husband of yours, Charles.
We all enjoyed having you both share the two days with us. I do believe it was not an accident that we found you….that was affirmed when we found out that you had photographed Blair and Heather’s wedding.
As you saw, we have a large family and many more weddings to come…we look forward to having you and Charles being a part of them. We love you both and look forward to talking to you soon.

These look wonderful! I am so thrilled with the way they came out. I started to tear up as I began to relive the day all over again. Some of my favorite photos are from the segment that you took at my grandmothers home; with the trees canopied overhead, it truly looks like an enchanted forest. They are so beautiful. I can’t wait to see the reception photos.What a whirlwind it has been since the wedding day – I can’t believe that is all over and done with. I hardly remember a single thing; the day simply blurs all together. But it was a beautiful day and the most wonderful moment of my life – and you have captured all of that on film, a treasure that I am truly grateful for.
I hope you and Charles weren’t completely stunned by some of our country antics – line dancing, cowboy hats, bull whips, etc. I hope that, even though you were working, that you both had a good time. I never even got to tell you and Charles goodbye or say thank you. So now that I have the opportunity, thank you for your time and talent on our truly blessed day.

Hi Meg (and Charles ),
As I was going through our album yesterday, I really marveled at the quality of your work and feel so blessed that I was able to find “just the right photographer��? that was so perfect for my day. I also wanted to tell you how fortunate I was to have you to photographer our engagement pictures at the farm, in particular, the shots of my horse and myself, as he passed away on Sunday. I consider myself very lucky to have those professional shots with him (especially since both of us were “groomed��? for the occasion – most of my photos with him are from horse shows and trail rides where we both look pretty rough). He was a very special member of our family and while he will be very much missed, I have some very wonderful photos to keep him close in mind (the B&W of me holding his ear and talking to him is my favorite – it completely summarizes our relationship in that he was always testing my limits and I was always trying to tell him otherwise). And really, while this seems much more therapeutic than anything else, I just wanted to tell you thank for your time and talents on that day – they are wonderful, and both myself, and my family, are so fortunate to have them.Best Wishes,

Then, Ashlee again, after receiving wall enlargements of her with her horse we ordered and rush shipped to her office as a surprise, after learning of her loss:
Dear Meg,
Words can never truly express the surprise and the joy that I had when I received the pictures of Danny Boy this afternoon. I was crying and smiling and then crying some more. When I got back from lunch, I saw a large package sitting in my cubicle and I thought “I haven’t order anything lately.��? I couldn’t figure out what it was.
And then when I opened it, I saw the black and white first…my jaw dropped, and I know I sat like that for at least 60 seconds. When all of the surprise wore off, the tears started running down my cheeks, and the biggest, brightest smile came across my face. And if that wasn’t enough, I started going through all of the packaging and found the beautiful color shots and then I really started crying.
The joy in my heart is overwhelming. Your generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness are a true testament to the warm-hearted woman that you are. Once in awhile, you find a moment when someone does something that is truly kind and it has the ability to move the soul. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You will never know how your kindness has touched by heart. You are fantastic! Many happy wishes and kind thoughts to you and to Charles. Hope your weekend is as good as mine is going to be.

Thank you so much for all your hard work for our event!! We love the pics! Talk about blending in, I commented to Josh last week that I was worried you didn’t get any shots of the reception or ceremony, as I didn’t recall seeing either of you for more than 5 minutes. Silly me, I should have known you were covertly working your magic!! They’re wonderful, and we so very much appreciate all your efforts.
Everyone LOVES the slide show, and I have spent one very unproductive day replaying it over and over. MAN, my husband is cute!!

Oh my goodness Meg & Charles!! We have been going ga-ga over these pix all day long! Every single person who has seen them goes on and on about them. Everyone thinks these pictures should be in a magazine, or could win awards. You have definitely out-done yourselves with these. And I have to say Jessica has never looked more beautiful. My personal favorite is #164 which was one of the last ones taken! Even after a long day neither you guys nor Jessica was too tired to “work it”. Thank you sooooo much! You have to know, that you have captured such a special moment for both of our girls. So many people have gotten teary eyed looking at the proofs today.

So, we had some friends over from Atlanta today, and they hadn’t seen our beach engagement pictures, and I clicked on our link, AND WE HAD WEDDING PICTURES!!!! I cannot TELL you how awesome they are!! And geez, you’re quick! Some 800 pics is 3 weeks with Thanksgiving in the middle?!
I have been sitting at my computer for the last 3 hours!!! I’m in heaven. Thank you thank you thank you. I knew they would be amazing, but I don’t think anybody can really anticipate how cool it is when it’s one’s own wedding and family in the pictures. I’m going crazy over here; I keep telling myself to get back to my work (I’m supposed to be writing the final for my freshmen, LOL)! Amazing, wonderful, great, perfect! I can’t thank you enough. They are beautiful. You do realize that you’re going to have to go into family photography because all of your clients are going to want you for the rest of our lives!

Last night I went to my friend’s house who got married over a year ago. I was looking at her wedding album and it was the traditional pictures with the matted pages. Oh my goodness, mine is so much cooler looking and nicer looking. I, of course, knew that this would be the case….but getting to compare albums in the same day made me realize even more how awesome mine is…..just the types of pictures and the layout is so much better. Its strange that people are even using the old school type of albums still.
Anyway I just wanted to thank you again. It looks so good! I just love it!! I can’t wait to show our families!
